PMG is proud to team up with local group Coalition Ingenu for an exciting summer exhibition that features a wide variety of interesting visionary art forms. The show will run from August 12 through September 4, with a FREE public reception on Friday, August 12 from 6:00 PM through 9:00 PM. PMG Members can enjoy a special cocktail hour from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Coalition Ingenu Self-Taught Artists’ Collective is a non-profit organization helping to promote the work of self-taught artists marginalized by a wide range of circumstances including poverty, mental illness, physical limitations, social isolation and struggles with addiction. The terms "Outsider” and "Visionary” art have been applied to self-taught artists, who are less motivated by the desire for recognition or financial reward when making their works, than by a genuine engagement in creative processes. Coalition Ingenu was founded in 1995 by self-taught artist Robert Bullock.

The Visionnaires is a collection of this artwork, leaning toward the work of those whose imagery is primarily inspired by visions and alternative perceptions. The exhibit will include several pieces from the group’s more popular Outsider and Folk artists. The Visionnaires will feature artists whose work has never been shown with Coalition Ingenu before, as well as new work by some who have been with the collective for more than a decade.
